Review: XPA - Extra Pale Ale

White Bay Brewery built their early reputation on lagers, but they’ve always brought plenty of other styles to the fore too. White Bay XPA – which joined the brewery’s core lineup in 2025 – is all about new-world hops delivered on a lean and snappy base.

The beer features a trio of American hops – Cascade, Idaho 7 and Citra – along with Australia’s own Melba from the folks at Ellerslie. Together, they bring pineapple, peach, nectarine and plenty of citrus, while a dry and softly bitter finish ensures it’s an easy-drinking beer designed for Australian palates.
